History of Pocono Township:

Pocono Township is rich in history!

It was dusty. Horse and buggies, the main means of transportation in those days, kicked up dirt from the scraped out trails that connected farmhouses with town. Sometimes the smell of chemicals from the local tannery permeated the air, mixing with the gas from the lanterns that provided light inside homes. Source
